Altered Book Art Workshops at the Book Box at Edgewater Park Beach

Old books can achieve a second life as art!  This 8-week workshop series provides you with the background information and techniques you need to fire up your creativity and immerse yourself in this exciting medium. (Open to age 12 through adult.) 

Workshops are held at at the Cleveland Public Library BookBox at Edgewater Park Beach.
The BookBox is on the ADA-accessible boardwalk near the Boathouse. 

Each week builds your skills and opens new avenues for your art: 
Week 1: Introduction to Altered Books
Week 2: Painting and Drawing Backgrounds 
Week 3: Collage & Mixed Media
Week 4: Theme and Imagery
Week 5: 3D & Sculptural Elements
Week 6: Final Touches & Covers
Week 7: Writing Reflections 
Week 8: Altered Book Gallery Show
