A Taste of Togetherness

A Taste of Togetherness
Presented by Cleveland Public Library’s OneCLE Initiative

Join Cleveland Public Library for an evening of food, culture, history, and community as we celebrate some of Cleveland’s most iconic staple foods at A Taste of Togetherness.

This unique culinary experience will explore the rich cultural history and community roots behind three beloved Cleveland favorites — the Polish Boy, corned beef, and pierogi — while highlighting the hometown businesses that helped make them local legends.

Featured Cleveland restaurants include:

  • Kim’s Wings – representing Cleveland’s famous Polish Boy
  • Slyman’s Restaurant – representing Cleveland-style corned beef
  • Pierogi Palace – representing the beloved pierogi

Attendees will enjoy food samples from all three featured restaurants while learning how these signature dishes became staples of Cleveland’s diverse food culture. Guests will also participate in an interactive cooking experience featuring live demonstrations, storytelling, and engaging conversation centered around food, heritage, and community connection.

A Taste of Togetherness is more than a food event — it is a celebration of Cleveland’s cultural identity, neighborhood traditions, and the power of food to bring people together.

Come hungry and leave connected.
