A Conversation on Chain of Ideas: The Origins of Our Authoritarian Age

Cleveland Public Library’s At the Table series welcomes National Book Award-winning historian Dr. Ibram X. Kendi for a conversation about his new book, Chain of Ideas: The Origins of Our Authoritarian Age. Dr. Kendi traces the global history of “great replacement” thinking, how it moved from the margins to the center of politics worldwide, and what it will take to push back.

Dr. Kendi is a leading historian and antiracist scholar, the founding director of Howard University’s Institute for Advanced Study, and the acclaimed author of Stamped from the Beginning and How to Be an Antiracist. He is also a MacArthur Fellow and was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people.

Presented as part of the Cleveland Book Fest, a month-long celebration of literary excellence in Northeast Ohio, and in partnership with One Cleveland, the citywide civic pride campaign.
